The fourth World Cup in intercrosse was held in Szombathely, Hungary July 23rd - 28th, 2002. There are a few pictures from this event available in the "World Cup 2002 Gallery". Men's TournamentThe following nations attended the fourth World Cup tournament for men in Szombathely:
In the preliminary round every team played everyone once. The first four teams then went on to play semi-finals where the losers played a match for third and the winners played the final. As expected the final was to be played between the two antagonists Québec and Czech Republic. The final was a fair game but the talks were focused on the two nations match in the preliminary round where a fight between two players forced the referee to end the game and call it a draw. In the end the Czech Republic was crowned World Champions
after the 25-18 victory in the final. Third place was claimed by the italians after beating Switzerland in the match for the bronze. Here is the final standings:
