About Malmö

Traveling to Malmö

Malmö is located by the sea in the south-west corner of Sweden.
A bridge connects Malmö with Denmark and Copenhagen.

The following table shows how to get to Malmö by plane and by car.


By plane
  1. Take the flight to Copenhagen Airport in Denmark.
  2. Take the train from Copenhagen Airport over the bridge to Sweden and Malmö.


By car
  1. Drive to Sassnitz/Rostock/Travemünde in Germany.
  2. Take the ferry over to Trelleborg in Sweden.
  3. Drive from Trelleborg in the north-west direction to Malmö (~20km).

or....

  1. Drive to Flensburg in northern Germany and cross the border to Denmark.
  2. Continue north on E45 for about 90 km, then east on highway E20.
  3. Take the bridge over "Lille Baelt" (Little Belt) and continue due east for about 60 km towards Nyborg.
  4. Take the toll-bridge over "Store Baelt" (Big Belt) and continue driving east on E20 towards Copenhagen for about 130 km .
  5. Just outside Copenhagen follow the signs towards Sweden and Malmö.
  6. Take the toll-bridge over Oresund to Sweden and Malmö

 

The city of Malmö

Malmö is the third largest city in Sweden after Stockholm and Gothenburg.
It has a population of about 450 000.
